VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION
April is Volunteer Appreciation month! The Glendale Sports Center managed by the YMCA relies on volunteers to help with tutoring, events, provide feedback and fundraise. We would like to thank all our wonderful volunteers for their time, treasure and talents. We would also like to recognize our volunteer of the year Scott Norquist! Scott is a dedicated volunteer, advocate for the YMCA, and always willing to help whatever we may need. He has been a very strong fundraiser for the YMCA, always one of the top producers each year leading the pack in dollars raised, number of donors and new donors. NEW KINESIS EQUIPMENT
Thank you for your patience during our installation of new flooring and new equipment in our fitness center! We hope you will enjoy using the new Kinesis machines. Unlike a traditional weight lifting machine in which the weight moves in one direction, Kinesis machines allow 360-degree movement, which not only increases strength but also improves balance and stability. For instruction on use of the new machines please see one of our personal trainers or check out some of these YouTube videos: Press Overhead Press High Pull. Look for a new cable crossover with attached weight stations to arrive in April.
PERSONAL TRAINING SALE
The Glendale Sports Center will be having a SALE on Personal Training. Members will receive 10% off all Personal Training Packages all month in April. See the fitness desk for more information.
EASTER CLOSURE
In celebration of the Easter holiday the Glendale Sports Center will be closed Sunday, April 1st. Have a happy Easter!
ROCKIES OPENING DAY
Celebrate with us the Colorado Rockies opening day Friday, April 6th! Wear your Rockies gear or something purple to your workout on the 6th for a chance to win prizes. If you’re downtown celebrating share a picture on our Facebook page and you could also win a prize!
9HEALTH FAIR
The 9Health Fair offers affordable and convenient health screenings throughout Colorado. The 9Health Fair will be at the Augustana Lutheran Church (5000 E. Alameda Ave.) on Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24 from 7AM-12PM each day. To view the available screenings and to register click here!
